Mortal Kombat for PS Vita gets May 4 release date

The number one reason for owning a PS Vita will be released for sale on the 4th of May, in the form of Mortal Kombat.

This will be the same reboot released on consoles last year, but it will include a few new features to sweeten the deal.

Some of these include touchscreen-enabled fatalities, which seems like it’ll be giving a lot of conservative politicians plenty of ammo in the war against violent video games;  imagine Jack Thompson’s face when he sees you literally pluck someone’s head off their shoulders.

Aside from those gory festivities, you’ll also get an “all-new” Challenge Tower mode, offering a rather impressive 150 Vita-exclusive missions.

You won’t be able to do any cross-over play with the Playstation 3 version, but Warner Bros. Interactive will give you all the DLC characters as a consolation prize.

It appears that the developer isn’t just doing a straight-up port; it’s nice to get a little bit of added value and features instead of a miniature clone.

FINISH HIM!

Sony is really out of touch with what digital distribution means. I went on the PSN this morning to buy MK Vita but it costs R419, so headed over to takealot and they are selling the physical version for R351. WTF Sony! Isn’t digital compies supposed to be cheaper than the physical versions. Okay, takelot claims its a reduced price from R399 but that is still cheaper than on the PSN. Wake up Sony or you will flush the Vita down the toilet just like you did with the PSPGo!
