World of Warcraft patch 3.1 goes live today

14 April 2009

The much anticipated 3.1 WoW patch is finally set to go live. There are a number of class updates that will be made with the new patch.

The update will also introduce the much anticipated new dungeon; Ulduar.

Ulduar is WoW’s most ambitious sounding raid yet. It is a natural progression from WOTLK’s newly introduced Naxxramas and Sartharion instances.

The new dungeon will comprise of two separate raiding areas. One section will be an epic battle between the player and a vast army that stands in front of the dungeon entrance. The second area will allow players to enter the actual dungeon to discover the “secrets of Ulduar”.

Apart from the new dungeon, players can look forward to the new dual-spec ability which will allow players to easily swap between different talent configurations in order to perform different tasks. There have also been a number of improvements made to the user interface, as well as bug fixes.

Those playing on American servers will automatically be prompted to download the new update today, while those on European servers will only have access to the new patch tomorrow. To view the detailed patch notes visit the official World of Warcraft website.
