World of Warcraft: A Look at Patch 3.2

22 June 2009

Here’s a peek at what to expect in the upcoming patch 3.2, which is currently active on the Test Realm.

Crusaders’ Coliseum

A new dungeon, namely the Crusaders’ Coliseum, will be added. It is currently not playable on the test realm, but will result in the inclusion of:

•    Trial of the Champion – a new 5-player dungeon
•    Trial of the Crusader – a new 10 and 25 player dungeon
•    Trial of the Grand Crusader – a new 10 and 25 player dungeon

Isle of Conquest

Isle of Conquest is a new 40 vs. 40 player siege battleground. The aim of the game is to break through the opposing team’s keep walls and kill their general, or deplete their reinforcements.

Players level 71-79 are pitted against each other, while level 80 players will face off against other level 80’s only.

Druid Cat and Bear Form Additions

Druids rejoice! 5 new skins have finally been added for both cat and bear form. Your form colour will change depending on your character’s hair colour if you’re playing an Alliance character, or skin tone if you’re playing Horde.

Mount Changes

A large number of changes will be applied to mounts, resulting in them being acquired at an earlier level and for a cheaper price. The Apprentice Riding skill can now be learned at level 20 for a measly 4 gold, with price reductions or faction discounts applying to the other Riding skills.

These skills, up until Expert Riding, will now be purchasable at lower levels than before, with Expert flying mounts seeing a flight speed increase to 150%, up from 60%.

Apart from this, the time it takes to summon mounts will be halved to 1.5 seconds from the current 3 seconds. Two new mounts will also be added, namely a new ground mount for the Night Elves and a new Epic ground mount for the Undead.

Item and Balance Changes

As with any major patch, Blizzard have altered a number of items in order to better balance the game. Class balance changes are also a-plenty, with Druids and Death Knights seeing sizeable nerfs, whilst Shamans have been given a boost.

Profession Changes

A long list of changes will be made to professions, with new recipes, treasures and the like being added for primary and secondary professions.

Other changes

As expected, Blizzard will be releasing a number of bug fixes, quest changes, dungeon changes and much, much more! To check out the full patch notes, visit the wow-europe
