Consumer Electronics & Technology Expo targets JHB and CT

6 July 2012

Looks like South Africa’s once-lacking expo-sector is now getting a lot more busy, thanks to the recent announcement of Cape Town’s upcoming gaming convention, GameX, as well as a brand new show – CETX, the Consumer Electronic & Technology Expo.

CETX is still in its planning phase, is set to bring a full-scale consumer show to South African audiences, with plans for the event to be held in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The show is to include everything from mobile phones and AV supplies, to tech appliances and gaming.

No dates have been slapped on the expo, although event organisers are looking at around Autumn of 2013 to host the show.

“The South African market is hungry for convenience, choice and customisation – there is a gap for international brands, especially specialist brands, to play a decisive role in the market”, said Ryan Matthews, one of the organisers behind the expo.
