Dungeons&Dragons Online becomes free-to-play in August

9 July 2009

Developer Turbine has announced that Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO) will become free-to-play on August 4.

The MMO has been going since 2006, and Turbine announced last month that they would be making it free-to-play later this year. At the moment the game charges a monthly subscription fee of $14.99 (R120).

The Dungeons&Dragons MMO will rely on micro transactions within the game for financial support.

There will also be an option to subscribe to a service called “DDO VIP” which will allow players access to premium content and account bonuses.

Not only will the game be made free-to-play, but Turbine has announced that it will have its level cap increased and a new player class will be introduced.
