Most gamers expect little more than a simple 2D based, obligatory walk/jump command driven time waster from the average independent platformer.
Fortunately you won’t find this in ‘Fall Over’ due to an interesting twist that Indie programmer Arvi ‘Hempuli’ Teikari decided to write into his latest offering.
In short you find yourself controlling a well dressed gentleman trying to make it from one end of the level to the other with as many coins in your pocket as possible. It sounds simple but owing to the addition of real world physics your character could topple over for a number of silly reasons including hitting his head on a platform above.
This kind of engine would have seen late 80’s game developers tearing out their hair, and for good reason.
It might sound a little strange but Fall Over adds just enough spice to the average basic platformer to hold your interest and challenge what you think you know about 2D gaming. It’s also free.
