Sony has announced plans for its PlayStation Mobile rollout initiative at Gamescom, promising a slew of new games for mobile platforms this year.

PlayStation Certified, Android-powered devices and PlayStation Vita will all be getting a new game library thanks to PlayStation Mobile.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO Jim Ryan said that PlayStation Mobile will offer games from major and indie developers through the company’s PlayStation Store.

The whole experience is tied with your PlayStation ID, and is supported by the PlayStation Store. Ryan confirmed that PlayStation Network features will be made available in the future.

A single game purchase will grant you access to using the game on any PlayStation Certified Device and PS Vita.

Developers that have signed up to create dedicated content for the service include THQ, Team 17, Action Button Entertainment, Muteki Corporation, Vlambeer vof and Necrosoft..

PlayStation Mobile will initially be available in nine countries including Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Australia with more countries to follow.
