August OC LAN will be biggest yet

19 August 2009

Organised Chaos’ (OC) Secret Agent LAN for August was due to hold 700 seats, but then just last week the team received over R200,000 worth of network switches and over R10,000 worth of cabling, allowing the country’s biggest monthly LAN to become even bigger with 840 seats.

OC’s Secret Agent LAN will run the weekend of August 28 to 30, and will be held at the Bellville Velodrome, Cape Town. The highlights of the LAN will include:

•    Secret Agent dress up theme, with the two greatest dressers to walk away with one 1Tb harddrive, each worth R1,000

•    The ever increasing popular Unreal Tournament 3 tourney run by one of new OC’s newest captains, Zephon. Furthermore, after OC August, UT3 will go pro under the Organised Gaming Association (OGA) and become a sponsored series powered by SteelSeries. This will become OGAs third tournament league alongside the Frontosa Call of Duty 4 and Café Viva Defense of the Ancients Series

•    Continuous CoD4 and DotA matches will be taking place with some of the best players in the country from  teams such as All Star Personal and Team Vodacom

•    A PS3 Tekken tournament will also take place, run by community captain Hotshot. Over 60-players are set to take part in the competition.

•    For a break from the big competitive games, major social games will include Team Fortress 2 and Savage. Other servers will be created to cater to expected high demand for socials such as for Battlefield 2, Supreme Commander, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Warcraft 3 custom maps, AVP2, HL2:DM, and whatever else will find enough player support. Players are reminded to make sure their games andPCs are up-to-date. Find out more on the  Chaos Forums.

OC’s doors will be open from Friday, 17h00. Pre-bookings are R120 per person with reserved parking available for an additional R20. Tickets will cost R140 at the door.
