Every month iGame and MyGaming go head to head in a Call of Duty 4 match in pursuit of the iGame/MyGaming Digital Cup.
The competition spans the months June to December with a total of seven matches being played over the year. The team with the most wins at the end of the competition will receive yet to be unannounced prize.
August will see the third match-up in the iGMG Digital Cup, with team MyGaming yet to have secured a win. While the games have been fairly close at times, iGame has managed to comfortably win both so far thanks to the high caliber of its competitive CoD4 payers.
This month however promises to be different, with MyGaming team captain Tinman making a special request for the match to be played in ‘Hardcore’ mode; a gameplay mode which iGame team captain Xerowing is known to struggle with.
When discussing the match informally Xerowing commented “I’m not looking forward to the hardcore thing though” going on to say “I hate hardcore, I can see myself dying a lot”. MyGaming team captain Tinman on the other hand thrives in hardcore mode and feels confident that his team will stand a better chance than ever come Wednesday night.
MyGaming will also be adding a few new players to its team, including ‘Owl’ who earned SA colours for CoD2 in 2006. While ‘Owl’ has not played competitively for years, MyGaming feels confident that his presence will go a long way towards the team earning its first win.
If MyGaming can squeeze a win out of Wednesday night’s match then the team will only be one point down on iGame. If iGame however wins then they go 3-0 making any sort of recovery a long shot for MyGaming.
The match will be played at 21:00, Wednesday August 26 on the iGame Core Beta Server.
The IP address for the host server will be 196.2.97.212:28961.
The Team Death Match will be played on the map ‘Pipeline’. To inquire about participating visit the respective forum thread.
