Peripheral manufacturer Logitech announced earlier this month that it would be sponsoring R60,000 worth of its products to winners at rAge. rAge is South Africa’s biggest gaming expo and also hosts the country’s biggest LAN event and it is taking place at the Coca Cola Dome in Northgate from 2-4 October.
The rAge LAN hosts the DoGaming LAN Championships which will feature over 300 of SA’s best competitive gamers competing for a variety of great prizes. The 10 Battlefield 2 teams, 12 Counter Strike Source teams and 36 Call of Duty 4 teams will all battle it out at this year’s competition.

As a warm up to rAge, Logitech has announced a once off one-night event which will be taking place this Sunday September 27, precisely one week before the semifinal and final rounds at rAge.
The single elimination CoD 4 tournament will run from 19:00 to 23:00. Round one will have 16 teams competing, starting at 19:00. Round 2 will start at 20:00 with the eight remaining teams playing for the semi-finals. The semi-finals will take place at 21:00. The last game of the evening along with the decider for 3rd place will be played at 22:00.
iGame will be providing the hosting servers for all matches played in the One Night Cup.
The top 3 finishing teams will be provided with branded Logitech shirts which will have their team names imprinted on the shirts.
All players will be expected to be in the #bastids channel in IRC by 19:00. =BFB= members will be acting as administrators. Any team not ready to play by 19:10 will be substituted out with a registered substitute.
Winners will receive their prizes on the first day of rAge. Teams interested in competing in the event should email [email protected]. The email should include the team’s name as well as the five core team members and two substitutes. The email must provide the five team members who will be attending rAge.
