Modern Warfare 2 PC version delayed

5 October 2009

PC gamers of the First-person-shooter persuasion will be gutted to learn that the hugely anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been delayed approximately two weeks.

Electronic Theater has confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 for PC will now be released on November 24.

The game was originally planned for a simultaneous multiplatform release on November 11. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will remain unaffected by the PC delay.

While Activision Blizzard has not confirmed the reason for the delay, many gamers suspect that the PC version is being pushed back to deter piracy, and possibly to promote console ownership among gamers.

Other rumors suggest that the game is being delayed due to manufacturing constraints.

Either way, PC gamers will now have to wait an additional 13 days longer than their console playing counterparts.
