World of Goo now costs however much you want it to

14 October 2009

Independent developer 2D Boy is – for a limited time only – selling its award winning puzzle platformer, World of Goo at user controlled prices.

Anyone can now purchase the game from the 2D Boy website and choose their own price before October 16.

An estimated 80% of people who own the game are said to be playing pirated copies.

“If you played and liked the game but hadn’t yet paid for it, this is your chance at redemption!” reads an announcement on the 2D Boy website, which is currently down due to the high volumes of traffic generated by the special price.

The download requires around 70Mb of bandwidth.

Read our World of Goo review for an in-depth explanation of what the game entails. We gave it 90%, a score which it now maintains on Metacritic.
