World of Warcraft: Hallow’s End

26 October 2009

It’s time to not only raid some dungeons, but to raid those closets of yours in search for the outfits you’d usually never be seen dead in. Hallow’s End is here in celebration of Halloween once again – bringing with it the terrifying antics of the Headless Horseman.

The first thing that comes to mind for many when the name Halloween is mentioned, are the words “trick or treat!” Of course, no Hallow’s End would be complete without a significant amount of just that.

Kind Innkeepers are more than happy to play along, so don’t forget to dress up in your scariest guise and stop on over at your local inn to pop the creepy question.  Another Halloween tradition is the entertaining game of apple bobbing. Make no mistake about it – you’ll find it in World of Warcraft during Hallow’s End too!

Of course, every major in-game event has a set of achievements to go with it. Hallow’s End is no different. Make sure to check the in-game list for what you can work towards whilst the event lasts.

Quests galore have been provided if you fancy something a little more formal than childish antics. You’ll notice three neutral quests, and a whole lot more separately catered to the two factions.

Should you get hungry from your adventures, check in with one of the new vendors that have popped up and are selling a range of candy items that are sure to appeal to your sweet tooth.

If running around begins to take its toll on your poor feet, and you’re one of those mount collectors, the Headless Horseman is back offering the chance of a mount drop should you kill him.  The fight works exactly the same as it has in previous years, so should you have done it in the past, you’ll feel right at home. He apparently doesn’t put up much of a challenge anyway. The only difference to previous years is the alteration of various gear stats in order to make said gear applicable to level 80 characters.

Good luck and have fun! You have until the end of October before people start looking at you strangely.
