Final Star Wars MMORPG classes announced

24 November 2009

Developers BioWare have announced the final classes for upcoming Star Wars MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.

The classes, namely the Jedi Consular and Sith Inquisitor, will be the last to be announced before the game is released in 2010.

“We thought as core classes the Consular and the Inquisitor made the most sense,” producer Jake Neri told Darth Hater. “We thought they balanced well against the other two. You can think of the Jedi Knight and the Sith Warrior as more of a melee-style Jedi, and the other two maybe more of the ranged-style Jedi. I think it made a lot of sense.”

Previously announced classes include Trooper, Smuggler, Jedi Knight, Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent and Sith Warrior

Despite the new information Bioware has failed to shed any light on the game’s official release date. It has been confirmed however that Beta testing is currently underway.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is Bioware’s first attempt at developing an MMORPG. The company is famous for developing Baldur’s Gate and more recently Dragon Age: Origins.
