Bethesda Softworks to publish RAGE

17 December 2009

Id Software and Bethesda Softwork’s parent company Zenimax Media announced today that it has acquired the publishing rights to upcoming first person shooter come racer RAGE.

In July this year it was confirmed that EA would be publishing the game with plans to release it on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. In fact at the time EA Partners general manager David DeMartini commented that “”the RAGE publishing deal is the epitome of EA Partners’ mission: Provide the world’s best developers with access to the world’s best publishing resources,”

In a press statement released today however Bethesda Softworks, which will now be publishing RAGE, revealed that “Electronic Arts Inc. will not be involved in the sales and marketing of RAGE,” adding that “the ongoing development of RAGE is unaffected by this development.”

No reason for the move or any clearer indication as to when the game will be released has yet been given.
