Modern Warfare 2 fix incoming

21 December 2009

You just can’t keep up with the stupid people dedicated to ruining the game for everyone else, can you? Just as Infinity Ward fixed up the notorious Javelin exploit, a whole bunch of new ways to break the game turn up. Top of the hitlist is some sort of matchmaking exploit that moves players from public to private games on Xbox, depositing a script in the console cache that makes the game a no-reloading, infinite ammo free for all. Which sounds like fun for perhaps 2 or 3 seconds.

Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has confirmed over his Twitter that the incoming update fixes the following:

– Public “private” match fix

– Infinite Ammo fix

– Akimbo 1887s balanced

– Prestige hack on PS3 fix

– Texture hack on PC fix

It’s not yet confirmed if this list is exhaustive, but the Prestige hack is definitely also around on the PC version. Maybe Infinity Ward should simply consider a mass strategical assassination of cheaters instead.
