Sony has revealed that its PS Vita will be undergoing a price cut in Japan.
The price cut applies to both the 3G and Wi-Fi models of the handheld, which will come into effect from 28 February 2013.
Both models will cost ¥19,980, which is a significant drop from the original launch price.
That would equate to around R1,880 (without additional import and duty costs), if of course the price drop reaches the rest of the world.
This could be a step in the right direction for Sony, as the Vita has been criticised for lacking an extensive game library, with very few titles on the horizon as well.
Maybe we’ll see some Vita games announced at Sony’s secretive event, which is set to take place on 20 February 2013 and rumoured to be the reveal of the PS4.
