Brazen takes iGame League

27 December 2009

Earlier this month team Brazen defeated team Pantheon to lift iGame’s Intel Annihilation CoD4 Leg 2 trophy. Earlier this year the team won the first leg of the same league.

After winning the knife round Brazen gave Pantheon the choice of which map would be played first. Pantheon chose Crash, and Brazen opted to start off on attack. The attackers dominated in the first half of the match, taking the score to 10-2. Things did not get any better for Pantheon going into the second half, with Brazen shutting them down with a domineering final score of 13-2.

For the second map Brazen chose Backlot. Pantheon fared better this time round, with scores closing at 6-6 at half time.  A patient and steady approach allowed Pantheon to narrowly edge out Brazen to take the map 13-10.

Since each side won a map, the match came down to a final map; Crossfire. Brazen again won the knife round and opted to defend first. The team pushed steadily at Pantheon giving them the lead at half time with the scores sitting at 8-4. Brazen maintained their momentum and went on to win the match 13-7.

The victory helps further cement Brazens status as SA’s best CoD 4 team in 2009, winning a number of major tournaments and leagues over the year. Last week Brazen also won the Organised Chaos CoD 4 final.

The team is looking good going into 2010, and will be looking to recreate its 2009 success in the Telkom DoGaming and iGame leagues.
