New Assassin’s Creed will keep current setting

18 January 2010

After having recently announced a “new episode of Assassin’s Creed” which is due to feature an online multiplayer mode, publisher Ubisoft has revealed further details behind the project which is due to be released between April 2010 and March. The company has also given further details regarding two new titles.

“The [new Assassin’s Creed] will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin’s Creed 2,” commented Ubisoft during a recent conference call. Company CEO Yves Guillemot also noted that the game will have an “offline component” and will be sold at “full price point”.

“It is the same studios because it’s not only one studio creating the game, but an association of studios and they are working together to make it happen,” added Guillemot.

Although Ubisoft chose not to include anticipated titles Beyond Good and Evil 2 or I Am Alive in its yearly breakdown, it has confirmed that both projects are still in their developmental stages although “there’s no additional info to provide at this time.”
