Rock Band Network enters open Beta testing

Microsoft today announced that Rock Band Network has entered the first stage of open Beta testing on Xbox 260 which will allow XAN creators and club subscribers to test and create their own Rock Band tracks.

Having been previously announced in July 2009, Rock Band Network provides a platform for artists to convert their tracks for Rock Band and sell them in the storefront. For their troubles the artists will receive 30% of the sale in return.

Tracks which have been created can now be submitted to the community for playtesting against “vulgarity, adult content, legal concerns, etc.”

When the Network official launches “songs will debut exclusively on Xbox 360 for 30 days” after which “a selection of standout tracks” will be added for download on the PS3 and Wii platforms.

There has been no official announcement thus far as to when Rock Band Network will be released.
