Top Gear game planned

25 January 2010

The BBC has announced that it plans on making games based on some of its “key brands”, including Top Gear and Doctor Who.

“We are open to conversations with anybody in games about all kinds of business models to see how we can extract more value,” said the BBC’s Neil Ross Russell. However, he declares “What we’re trying to do is build the brands here–this is not about opportunistic licensing.”

BBC Worldwide is heading up the move into the gaming market, with former vice president of EA’s Social Games Group Robert Nashak taking the reins on the project as executive vice president of Digital Entertainment.
