Red Steel 2 dated

28 January 2010

A recently released Red Steel 2 trailer has revealed that the Ubisoft developed Wii western shooter/slasher will be released on March 26th and will introduce players to the dusty city of Caldera.

Red Steel 2 will reportedly require, and may be shipped with, the Wii Motion plus control due to the improvements in accuracy that this add-on will bring.
“Controls are at the centre of play and if you don’t get the controls right at first, nothing you do after that matters,” explains Red Steel 2 creative director Jason VandenBerghe in a new developer diary.

Regading the setting Ubisoft revealed that it will feature a number of night levels and that several environments will be open for the player to explore.
“The whole story takes place in and around the city of Caldera, and there’s a lot of different kinds of environments in that place. Ancient temples, ramshackle slums, desert, huge modern freight-moving systems… it’s a real city. Then you’ll roll on out into surrounding canyons, where you’ll find a pueblo-style mining town, a huge semi-automated strip mine, old, abandoned underground tunnels, an ancient ancestral monastery / temple clinging to the side of a cliff” revealed the diary.
