Counterstrike Source updated

2 February 2010

Developers Valve have officially released an update for first person multiplayer classic Counter Strike Source, announcing that it is currently available for download.

According to Examiner the patch addresses stability issues and serves to clean up the game engine somewhat. Specifically it removes the ability to download SMX, GCF, SYS files along with files whose extensions contain whitespace or those which begin with path separators.

The file can be applied to the game by restarting the Steam client.

Counterstrike Source, released in 2004, is one of the most successful online multiplayer titles ever developed. Although it might be showing its age today it is still one of the most widely played titles across the globe.
