Halo announced for Xbox One

10 June 2013

Microsoft has answered the prayers of millions of gamers and announced a new Halo game for Xbox One.

The next Halo will see the return of Master Chief for another alien-bashing first-person extravaganza in the highly rated Halo franchise.

The simple “Halo” title is not finalised, and could take the numerical follow-on, Halo 5, but this could be anything at the moment.

The short video shown by 343 Industries revealed Master Chief in a desert, wrapped in a tattered shroud and witnessing a giant spaceship rise from the sand.

The game is said to run at 60 frames per second and will feature dedicated servers, presumably for the multiplayer component.

There is no specific release date, but it is scheduled for a 2014 release.
