About Splinter Cell Conviction

Splinter Cell Conviction is exclusive to the PC and Xbox 360, and is the fifth instalment of the popular Splinter Cell series.

Taking place three years after the events of the last game – Splinter Cell: Double Agent – Conviction once again puts players into the boots of Sam Fisher.

A number of new gameplay features have been flouted by the developers, including the new “Mark and Execute” mechanism, which allows players to mark objects and enemies, and shoot them when they burst through a door or window, with certain targets being given priority. Fisher can now vanish into crowds, and use enemy surroundings against them. In Edge Magazine’s review, they were impressed that players could turn any environment into a “torture chamber.”

The game is already enjoying a highly positive reception, with the likes of IGN awarding it 93/100. 1UP gave it 91/100, Game Informer 90/100, Edge 8/10, and Gamespot 80/100. It is currently sitting on 89/100 on Metacritic.

We will have our own review up in the next few days.

Splinter Cell Conviction is due on on April 16 on XBox 360, and April 30 on PC.
