Without a doubt, the next-gen systems will have their fair-share of first-person shooters, sports games, and action-RPGs, but there is also a fleet of racing games coming our way that you should take notice of.

Need for Speed Rivals

Need for Speed games seem to divide the NFS fan base every year, but there’s no denying that they’re all good racers.

That said, Rivals is said to bring the fast, frantic, and features that made everyone fall in love with the franchise in the first place.

The returning focus of police chases, gorgeous environments and incredibly vast customisation will undoubtedly generate a huge racing community.

The Crew

The Crew is Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world racer that looks like the best elements of Burnout and an MMO combined.

Players will have to team up with friends to get a rep across the underground racing scene and sabotage the 510s – a notorious gang which controls the city.

The Crew could become the ultimate racing MMO, and will have to go up against Rivals in the action-oriented explosive racer genre.

Driveclub

Evolution Studios, who developed the MotorStorm series, are set to deliver the heavily team focused racing game, DriveClub.

DriveClub features official car licenses, authentic car exteriors and interiors and a highly-boasted about cockpit view.

The game will also utilise the element of social racing, allowing friends to collaborate in teams and interact with asynchronous challenge-based racing on multiple devices.

Forza Motorsport 5

Developed by Turn 10 Studios, the latest edition of the highly-rated racing franchise will be exclusive to Xbox One at launch.

Forza Motorsport 5 will make use of cloud features and Turn 10 promises to “set a new bar for racing games”.

More cars, licenses and brand new tracks will give new longevity and authenticity to the Forza franchise.
