Respawn takes on 16th ex-Infinity Ward Employee

3 May 2010

Eurogamer has noted that four more ex-Infinity Ward employees have resigned and moved to Respawn Entertainment, an independent studio created by ousted Infinity Ward founders Vince Zampella and Jason West.

This brings the total of ex-Infinity Ward employees at Respawn to 16. The studio that is responsible for Call of Duty becoming arguably the most successful game franchise ever is now in utter shambles, although publisher Activision insists that it still the same studio, and has a “deep bench”. This despite the fact that all senior members of the studio have now left, with more doing so every day.

It remains to be seen what sort of impact this will have on Modern Warfare 3, which is supposed to be out late next year.

On thing is for sure though, is that Respawn’s first title is going to be massive.
