17 million Call of Duty map packs served

7 May 2010

Speaking at Activision Blizzard’s recent Q1 Earnings Call, Activision big cheese Bobby Kotick revealed that over 17 million map packs have been digitally served for Call of Duty. This does not include figures from the PS3 version of the just released Stimulus Pack.

The Stimulus Map Pack broke Xbox Live records by being downloaded over a million times in its first 24 hours.

Furthermore, Infinity Ward (or what’s left of it) is busy working on yet another Modern Warfare 2 map pack. Like the Stimulus Pack, the next map pack will cost $15 (R110). It will however consist of more maps, providing better value than the previous DLC. The second map pack is expected to be released in the second half of 2010.
