Latest BioShock 2 update gets golf club free-for-all deathmatch

11 May 2010

Dropping sometime later today on Xbox LIVE and PSN, there’s a $10/800 Microsoft Point premium BioShock 2 DLC add-on dubbed “The Metro Pack”, including five new multiplayer maps, a kind of veteran “Rebirth” feature that lets players restart over from Level 1 in exchange for some sort of fancy mask or something, and three new Achievements / Trophies. Would you kindly, etc.

Topically, though, there’s also a freebie “Kill ‘Em Kindly” downloadable multiplayer mode that’s basically just everybody bashing each other with golf clubs, because Plasmids and guns are for wimps and Big Sisters. Insert obvious joke about grand slam here, while everybody wipes away a tear in memory of the original BioShock’s clever subtlety.

Oh, there’s also a $2 / 160 MSP character pack going live, adding two playable characters to the multiplayer roster. Whatever, it’s all about who gets to be the Big Daddy.
