The range of AAA titles from very recent to the best of yesteryear shows us how the age of a game also effects its pricing.
Bioshock Infinite
Bioshock Infinite is one of the biggest games of 2013 and is being regarded as a contender for Game of the Year, so we decided to see which store has the cheapest offer.

There is a big discrepancy in price, with some retailers offering specials on Bioshock Infinite, pricing it at R379.90 at the cheapest (BT Games), with the most expensive being R499.99 (Look & Listen) – that’s over a R120 difference.
Far Cry 3
Far Cry 3 is arguably one of the best games of 2012.

There are some big discrepancies here, as Far Cry 3 prices range from the lowest R88.78 (Kalahari) up to R329.99 (Look & Listen) – which is a massive difference – over R240.

Batman: Arkham City
Batman: Arkham City was also put to the test, as it’s a prominent game of 2011, and well worth picking up ahead of the release of Arkham Origins, coming later this month.

Loot comes in with the cheapest offering, but there are still big gaps with the pricing mark of a game such as Arkham Origins on PC, which seems hard to get hold of now.

Conclusion
Each retailer has its own particular prices, however, in relation to the 2012 and 2011 games, the margin can range from relatively small to large. So, convenience will be the decider when picking up a great game from yesteryear.
Pricing on the latest triple-A games from the past few years will likely vary a lot depending where you shop, so it pays to do some research before making a decision, keeping an eye out for promotions and specials.
