DayZ – 10 minutes of gameplay

18 November 2013

The standalone edition of DayZ is coming along, and lead Bohemia Interactive developer Dean Hall has posted some alpha footage to YouTube.

This is raw footage, and so hasn’t been dressed up with fancy editing and a soundtrack. Hall said:

Been a while so here is a raw, unedited, roughly 10 minute gameplay video taken after spawning into a multiplayer test today. This is pre-alpha footage, so it makes no effort to mask the variety of bugs. Our whole focus is on getting the alpha out, which means focusing on Multiplayer (server) performance. Enjoy and see you soon!

DayZ Standalone is a game being developed by Bohemia Interactive along with Dean “Rocket” Hall, the creator of the award winning mod DayZ.

In addition to enhancements, there is also a new loot spawn system that can generate loot in some interesting nooks and crannies, and require players to really look and traverse around to gather the resources they need.

There are new locations in the game, particularly an island that featured in ARMA 2, which was highly requested by the community.

It was also previously revealed that the DayZ standalone will be getting weekly content updates, including clothing and weapon items.

Hmm 8:37 doesn’t look like 10 minutes to me.
