If ever there were a game meant to be made into a movie, its Heavy Rain. The director could almost just transpose footage from the actual game, squish it into two hours, and his job would be done.
According to Deadline.com the film rights were up for auction. Newline Cinema founders Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne posted the highest bid with their own money.
It is assumed that the two will produce the movie under their new production company; Unique Features.
Heavy Rain’s synopsis reads like any dark thriller film, with the primary protagonist desperately trying to find his kidnapped son after he is thought to be taken by a notorious serial killer.
