When Valve announced last week that their Portal 2 event slot at E3 had been cancelled, and would be replaced by a “surprise,” gamers immediately began speculating that we may see a Half Life 2: Episode 3 reveal instead.
It looks like this has been taken off the table however, and Valve has announced that the surprise will be Portal related. They also said that Portal 2 will now only be released in 2011 as opposed to later this year.
No reason was given for the delay, but Valve assured us that “all life on earth won’t instantaneously stop as every molecule in your body explodes at the speed of light.”
Phew.
