We couldn’t be more pleased with the unexpected direction the Bioshock franchise has taken with the recent reveal of Bioshock: Infinite. The original Bioshock remains one of the most critically acclaimed video games of all time, with a Gamerankings‘ score of 94.95%.
The sequel, Bioshock 2, was released earlier this year, and while it was a good game, it did not reach the same heights as its progenitor. This has been attributed to the fact that creative mastermind Ken Levine was not involved in the project. Instead, he was cooped up in a dark room somewhere, dreaming up the concept behind Bioshock Infinite, which in diametric opposition to the original, is set in the sky.
Be sure you check out our first look feature of Bioshock Infinite which sports the official cinematic reveal trailer.
The first full gameplay trailer is promised this week Tuesday, but to tide you over until then, here is a brief gameplay snippet. The video shows off some stunning visuals, gorgeous backdrops and enticing level design. The full gameplay clip will be available on Xbox Live and Xbox.com, and “shortly thereafter, on Gametrailers,” and of course, the entire internet.
Update
Minutes after posting this article, the video was removed from Youtube. Sorry to disappoint folks!
