South Koreans dominate World Cyber Games

South Korea retained the title of grand champion for the third straight year at the Olympics of the video game world – the World Cyber Games (WCG) 2010.

Four gold medals were awarded to South Korean gamers on Sunday at the 10th annual WCG Grand Final. Gamers from the United States weren’t far behind South Korea, earning three gold medals.

The four-day contest took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and featured more than 400 competitors from 58 countries. 32 000 spectators watched the events live at the convention center, with live streaming Internet video viewers numbering into the tens of millions. The final was also broadcast to televisions in eight countries, including China, Germany and Russia.
