Trine 2 out next year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360

19 October 2010

Developer Frozenbyte has announced that the sequel to its fantasy puzzle platformer, Trine, will be released next year on the Playstation Network, Xbox Live and PC.

The Finnish developer says to expect the game in Spring, which means our Autumn, so we can expect it around May/June 2011.

Trine was praised for its gorgeously rendered visuals and memorable fantasy narrative. Players could control 3 different characters – a thief, wizard and knight – each one possessing vital skills for traversing different parts of the game world.

The sequel promises online and offline co-operative gameplay, as well as “new gameplay features and improvements.”

“For example, the Wizard’s levitated objects will retain their kinetic energy, so they can be hurled towards enemies, making the Wizard a lot more adept at combat, and the Thief gets a new time slow ability which will be very useful in certain puzzles,” says Frozenbyte.
