Retail gaming specials this weekend

Finally, the weekend is here, and with it comes some gaming deals from local retailers, including some console, gaming and peripheral specials.

Here’s the best of the best this week:

PS4 and games bundle (Makro) – R6,199

Makro has a promotion on a PS4 bundle, which includes the 500GB console, one DualShock 4 controller and two games (The Order: 1886 and Driveclub), all for R6, 199.

Game specials (Takealot) – various prices

Takealot has launched its spring sale to welcome in the new season; there are even some games that have received a further price-drop.

Borderlands 2 (PC) is priced at R159, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (PS3) for R198, Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4) for R399 and Splinter Cell: Blacklist – the 5th Freedom Edition for R731.

Power Trade special (BT Games)

If you trade in your games at BT Games between 4-10 September, you get 10% more value if you trade in 3 games, 15% more if you trade in 4 games and 20% more value if you trade in 5 games.

Xbox 360/PS3 console bundle options (Game) – various prices

Game is currently running a promotion which allows aspiring console-adopters to select from a variety of console bundle specials.

Customers have the option of picking up a standalone 500GB Xbox 360 console for R3, 000, or a 12GB PS3 console and two controllers for R2, 800.

They can then add 4 extra games if they choose to, which will make the Xbox 360 bundle R3, 700 in total, or the PS3 bundle R3, 500 in total.

If bought separate, the games are priced at R200 each.

Game specials (Raru) – various prices

Raru has some specials on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and Xbox One games.

You can buy 3 selected PC games for R99, 2 PS3 or Xbox 360 games for R299 and 2 PS4 or Xbox One games for R799.

SteelSeries Flux headset and Watch Dogs bundle special (Takealot) – R551

If you’re looking for a peripheral and game combo, Takealot’s SteelSeries Flux headset and Watch Dogs on PC is currently discounted by 38% off, pricing the bundle at R551.

Xbox One Gears of War Ultimate Edition console (Takealot) – R5,399

The brand-new Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Xbox One bundle, which features the 500GB console and game, is priced at R5, 399 from Takealot.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain PS4 console (Takealot) – R5,999

With the release of the highly-acclaimed Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the special red PS4 edition and game bundle is priced at R5,999.

1TB PS4 console special (House & Home) – R5,769

House & Home currently has the newly-released 1TB version of Sony’s PS4 console for R5,769.
