Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Xbox 360 online co-op dated

21 October 2010

Crystal Dynamics has finally made good on their promise to implement online co-op in Lara Croft and the Guardian of light, even if it is only for the Xbox 360 so far. The online co-op mode has been sorely lacking from the title, which has received good reviews despite the missing feature. Co-op updates to the PC and PSN versions are “coming later, stay tuned.”

Crystal Dynamics originally planned to implement co-op alongside the PC and PSN release of the game, which launched at the end of September 2010, but clearly someone dropped the ball.

Announced via a tweet Crystal Dynamics confirmed that online co-op will be implemented via a patch on 27 October 2010. They also indicated that the first DLC pack for the game will be launched on the same day, and for free as a way of saying “thanks for your patience.”

From October to December the downloadable Lara Croft campaign continues with 5 packs available across all formats. The first three are expansion packs feature a combination of all new puzzle, exploration and combat experiences and new areas to explore. The further two packs are playable character packs, offering gamers the chance to experience the entire adventure without Lara Croft and Totec and instead with some other well-known (yet to be revealed) videogame characters.
