Say hello to the PlayStation Phone

28 October 2010

Endgadget has managed to get its grubby mitts on what is said to be Sony’s next big handheld gaming device; the PlayStation Phone. So what do you need to know? Well, for starters, according to Endgadget, it will most probably run on Android 3.0, and will feature a custom Sony Marketplace which will allow users to download games and apps designed especially for it.

The device will run on a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8655 CPU, 512MB or RAM, and 1GB of ROM. It’s crazy to think how much more powerful this hybrid device will be than the original PlayStation.

The trademark PlayStation control layout is present, as are the shoulder pad buttons. There is also a touch pad which runs down the centre of the device.

While there will be no memory stick input, there will be space for microSD cards. The device is still a prototype, and is thought to be out in 2011.
