Sennheiser has unveiled its latest pair of high-performance headphones – called Orpheus.
The headphones, which will retail for $55,000 (R768,000), are based on the company’s 1991 headset of the same name.
The latest model includes a new signal processor, marble-clad design, oxygen-free copper cabling, and German leather.
Amps are built into the ear cups to avoid noise introduced by cabling, while design improvements include eight DACs with a sampling rate of up to 384kHz.
The frequency response is from 8Hz to over 100KHz.
