Super Meat Boy patch incoming, includes 20 new levels

5 November 2010

Team Meat’s busy putting together a game update for XBLA’s instant cult darling Super Meat Boy, fixing the notorious auto-save glitch, as well as “all known bugs”. Presumably, they won’t be making the hellishly difficult game any easier, but they are including 20 new levels to grind your tolerance for masochism and a new music track. The whole package is expected to be completed sometime this week, and “hopefully will be up soon”, pending Microsoft’s certification process.

In the meantime, the game’s launch special price of 800 MSP – saving you 400 MSP! – has been extended by another week, so get it while it’s hot. And cheap.

The Steam PC release is scheduled for the last week of November, and includes a level editor, six exclusive characters that “you will cream your pants over” (Robocop?!), and 30-plus achievements “most rejected by MS for their difficulty”. Be afraid.

A Mac version is also in development. Anyone? Anyone?
