AMD’s biggest and badddest card to date, the dual-card Radeon R9 Fury X2, is set to launch in December of this year, or at least it was.
Or maybe it still is, no one is quite sure. While the official unveiling of their dual Fiji XT monster is still set to take place this month, it will likely only be a soft launch for the general consumer.
Consider it GPU window shopping. You’ll still get to ooh and aah at its pixel pushing prowess, but there won’t be any available for purchase until late Q1 of 2016 – late February to mid-March we’re guessing.
That’s according to Benchlife.info, who reports a paper launch is about as good as it’s going to get for the moment.

Usually, a paper launch means production has already started, perhaps not quite in earnest, and the unit will be available the following month, but delays in production have been reported by Benchlife.info.
Engineering samples have been sent to add-in board (AIB) partners, but mass production has yet to begin.
Given the predicted price of the card, we’re thinking more than two GTX 980 Tis, we’re not sure a limited supply will affect the average South African consumer all that much.
