FairSteam is a browser plugin for Firefox and Chrome that introduces a number of customer-friendly features for your day-to-day Steam shopping.
The aim of the addon is to remove all the “unneeded fluff” and marketing material on a game’s Steam page to provide the user with only fair information on the product.
Specific features include:
- Adds actual gameplay video from YouTube into the Steam Store.
- Provides numbers for recent game reviews, allowing you to spot positive/negative trends prior purchase.
- A number of small tweaks and additions to the default Steam player.
- Option to manually turn on/off HD for Steam videos.
Source code for the extension is also available directly from GitHub.
What do you think of the addon? Are the features it provides useful or is there another method you’re using to sort through your Steam purchases? Let us know in the comments below.

I don’t see any benefit to this? or what am I missing here…. firstly who uses the browser when you already have the steam app on your pc. You can already arrange the reviews how you wish, and I would prefer to go lookup my own gameplay videos on games I am interested in.
