A recent Playstation Blog post stated exactly what to expect from Uncharted 4’s multiplayer mode.
All future maps and modes will be included with Uncharted 4 at no additional cost, and all vanity and gameplay in-game store items will be unlockable through gameplay.
There is no chance of the player-base being fragmented.
This also means that while the game will feature micro-transactions – it will only be for cosmetic items and you can unlock all of these through gameplay.

Uncharted 4 will release on 10 May 2016.
