Whilst Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Fallout: New Vegas might be deserving of recognition for their script writing, the other nominees are rather strange to say the least.
God of War III was great fun, with stunning visceral graphics, but the dialogue was mostly Kratos shouting about revenge and his intent to kill stuff, and then the screaming of his victims as he killed them. How did the Wii version of The Forgotten Sands get singled out and wind up in there? It makes one wonder how many game script writers are actually members of the Writers Guild of America – it must be a pretty small pool if Singularity managed to snag a nomination.
Not having played The Force Unleashed II, I can’t comment on whether the narrative is able to stand on its own – game critics certainly agreed that the game as a whole was mediocre at best.
