This is what Uber drivers and strippers have in common

12 June 2016

Uber And Strippers both have something in common, reports Bloomberg, but it’s not what you think.

Two massive ongoing debates taking place in the United States involve whether Strippers and Uber drivers are in fact employees or contract workers – the outcome of which could result in both being paid a regular salary.

Both sets of workers subsist primarily on tips and “performance fees”, typically relying on long working hours in order to make a steady income.

A comparison can also be drawn between the setting of dancer’s schedules, workplace guidelines and fees, and that of Uber’s.

While drivers may be able to choose when and where they want to work, they must also adhere to the strict rules and guidelines set by Uber.

The outcome is currently being decided by a Federal Court opinion.
