PlayStation 3 owners can now delve into the first full-length Mass Effect offering on the console, taking on the role of Commander Shepard and his fight to save humanity. The game is now available in the EU and South African region at retail and through the PlayStation Network.
The PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect 2 will include six hours of bonus content, including ” Kasumi — Stolen Memories,” “Overlord” and “Lair of the Shadow Broker.”
We’d like to remind PS3 Mass EFfect 2 players that they are also entitled to some free goodies through the PSN store: According to a post on the company’s blog, “Until February 23rd, 2011, Mass Effect 2 players on Playstation 3 can download the Terminus Armor and M-490 Blackstorm Projector Weapon free of charge from the PSN Store. After Feb 23rd, the Terminus Gear will be available as paid DLC.”

Mass Effect Genesis, an interactive comic from Dark Horse Comics and BioWare, will also be available today exclusively on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, giving players a high-level overview of the events of the original Mass Effect. The interactive comic offers players the chance to make critical choices that will affect their storyline in Mass Effect 2 and beyond. Mass Effect Genesis is included in the Cerberus Pack, a downloadable content pack included for first time purchasers of Mass Effect 2 on PlayStation 3. Players who are using second-hand copies of Mass Effect 2 can purchase the Cerberus Pack through PSN.
