ICON Comics and Games Convention kicks off this weekend

ICON 2016, South Africa’s longest-running comics and games convention, kicks off this weekend.

The convention will be held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 24-26 June.

The event will feature a massive cosplay competition, streaming the finals worldwide and awarding finalists with a spot in the 2017 Cosplay Calendar.

The convention will also include various tabletop gaming tournaments, featuring titles such as Star Realm, Dominion, and King of Tokyo, while also hosting the World Championship Settlers of Catan qualifiers.

The winners of the competition will go on to compete in the Settlers of Catan World Championship in Colorado.

A Day Pass for the event will cost R100, while a Weekend Pass is priced at R150.
