Google has integrated its own Speed Test tool into its search function as a way to capitalise on anyone searching for the feature, reports The Verge.
In addition to now providing the search results and links to sites like Ookla or MyBroadband, typing “check internet speed” into the Google search bar will allow you to perform the function in Google.
Twitter user Pete Meyers first discovered the new tool, and then posted a screenshot of the feature.
In addition, he unearthed a Google Support webpage detailing exactly how the new tool works and that Google is actually relying on Measurement Lab, a startup created in 2009 by Google employees.
