Sony is making a PlayStation 4 Slim: report

Sony PS4

Sony will release a PlayStation 4 Slim console in addition to the upcoming PlayStation NEO, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The rumour comes courtesy of Macquarie Securities analyst Damian Thong, who was extremely guarded about what to expect from the new console:

Sony might also introduce a slimmer version of the PlayStation 4, revealing it at a game show in September.

September is traditionally when the Tokyo Game Show is held, so it would not be completely far-fetched to see a hardware revision announced, especially as the PlayStation NEO is still expected to launch this year.

This new Slim console would then act as a direct competitor to the Xbox One S, which was announced this year’s E3.
